This is the email I have sent to feedbacktogom-mha@nic.in on state bifurcation on Oct16th.
Dear GOM,
I have few basic doubts about the state bifurcation. I hope you are much intellectual and eligible persons to clarify the me and Telugu speaking community as a whole about the same.
Never in the history of India, a region having the capital has ever demanded of a separate state. A capital city is intended for state irrespective of regions. Developed by all the regions, every region has equal right on city. It seems that you have approved a claim of few that capital belongs to the region where it resides. It is like fruits of a tree not shared among the people who has invested and harvested for its growth. Partiality to certain region is clearly evident. Isn’t it?
GOI has constituted a high level Sri Krishna committee which has given its report to goverment. However, We are very surprised that it is not tabled in the parliament. Why is it so?
A note of AP bifurcation has caused a great uproar across the telugu community. Never heard that there were cabinet meetings held on two consecutive days on different issues. Why is there an urgency to bifurcate rather than finding an amicable solution through dialogue? Why is that such a high priority item should be placed as a table item without mentioning it in agenda?
Any new state has everything new. Right from the capital, secretariat, Govt. offices, Universities, funds etc. But in case of AP bifurcation, Honorable Home Minister has stated that, New state is Telangana and residual state it Andhra, Isn’t it the other way around? You have created new Seema-Andhra state with the same old name AP. Isn’t it a complete ignorance of facts and common sense. Does mere changing of names make a state new?
Since we are a democratic nation, we always abide by the majority opinion as per our constitution. However, it is very unfortunate that you have completely ignored the hue and cry of majority Telugu community. If you say you have taken opinion of political parties, For your information, Parties have never been gone to elections on bifurcation as a referendum or as a single agenda. Except for parties, which are suffering in internal revolts due to the recent outbursts, Kindly let me know the people, organizations, communities and others who you have consulted?
Since there have been bifurcations earlier and funds were assured to new states at the time of bifurcation. What are the status of them so far. Of the assured sum, How much is given to the said new states?
I would like to know about the radical development that might have happened to the new recently formed states after their formation to till date? and How did the bifurcation helped people to empower(except the political class who would get extra ministerial posts and others)?
Ignorance of any protests is not safe for a democratic nation. There have been huge agitations and protests right from the CWC resolution and cabinet note on bifurcation and I would like to know what actions have been initiated/taken to please the protesting telugu community?
Aren’t there any eligible leaders/ministers from telugu community to be part of GOM? Bifurcating a state without its people involvement in any aspect doesn’t make any sense. It is a betrayal of democracy which will inflict its wounds to the generations to come.
Unrest in mind of a person and people in community shows a huge impact on nation in a very very negative way. Address them first and please don’t be adamant on your decisions so far for immediate bifurcation without pleasing everyone.
I think, Sitting in Delhi, you should not define boundaries of states and create rift among the people in a community. Your efficiency lies in finding a win-win solution rather than isolating and ignoring a section of community.
I urge you to not to hurt Telugu pride and self respect. I plead to kindly put your egos aside and find an amicable solution with equal justice to people of Telugu community.
We help in building the nation as we always did. Do not ignore us!
regards, Harsha
